Nan Cameron, MSN, RN, LAc

Nan opened the Cameron Clinic of Oriental Medicine in Wilmington, NC in March of 2000 after receiving her Masters in Oriental Medicine degree from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, NM. Nan spent the summer of 1999 completing a clinical internship in hospitals in Beijing and Chengdu.

Nan practiced as a registered nurse for more than 20 years before returning to school to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. She received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Kentucky and a Masters of Science in Nursing degree in oncology (cancer nursing) from Gwynedd- Mercy College.

Nan continues to advance her knowledge through continuing education programs. Nan has studied with David Euler and Kiiko Matsumoto for several years to learn Kiiko style Japanese acupuncture. Kiiko style and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) are both based on the Chinese classics and modern medical pathophysiology to bring out the best in both. Kiiko graduated from Tokyo Kasei University with a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and then attended the Japan Central Acupuncture and Moxibustion College in Tokyo. Kiiko has studied with many Japanese acupuncture Masters and has been strongly influenced by Master Kiyoshi Nagano, a blind acupuncturist. Kiiko would be first person to say that a practitioner must continue learning and evolving their style to best meet the needs of their patients.

Nan was appointed and served on the North Carolina Acupuncture Licensing Board (NCALB) from December of 2003 to June 2008. She served as Secretary from January 2004 - January 2006 and Chair from February 2006 - February 2008.

Nan is licensed as an acupuncturist by the NCALB. She is recognized as a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She maintains licensure as Registered Nurse in North Carolina.

Brendan C. Cook, MS, L.Ac.

Brendan joined the Cameron Clinic of Oriental Medicine in the fall of 2011, after practicing acupuncture in the Wilmington area, in New York and internationally. He was originally licensed as an acupuncturist in 2005, in New York, where he continues to hold licensure. He received his Masters in Acupuncture from the New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, NY. He also completed a post-graduate internship in Kampo Japanese herbal medicine at with Nigel Dawes in Manhattan, NY.

In addition to acupuncture and Japanese herbal medicine, Brendan has training in Amma therapeutic massge, Zen shiatsu and Northern-style yogic Thai massage. He also has had previous experience as both a personal trainer and nutrition and wellness counselor.

Brendan is licensed by the NCALB, as well as by the NYSAB and Office of the Professions. He is also recognized as a Diplomat in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
